INFLUENCE OF SOME SOLANUM ROOTSTOCKS ON EGGPLANT CROPS FROM ROMANIA

Some results regarding the influence of some Solanum rootstocks on eggplant crops from Romania are in this study. Eggplants popular vegetables all around world. Among grafting aims fruit yield and quality. Eggplant has been a tradition for over 15 years at Horting Institute Bucharest. Grafting combinations used have S. melongena scions (Aragon F1 Hazera, Israel Luiza variety Research–Development Vidra, Romania), lycopersicum x habrochaites rootstock (Emperador Rijk Zwaan, Nethelands) (L23B hybrid germplasm colection Research Station Buzău, Romania). By comparing carbohydrates content grafted or non-grafted variants, eggplants had outstanding results, values higher than control eggplants. Production increment up to 25.44% (Luiza Emperador). Carbohydrate increased 0.14% Researches identification compatible with continues Romania.
